Students will present their final project to invited architects at the end of the semester. We give special emphasis to those changes which occur as technology changes. Examination students are reminded that no aids are allowed into the examination hall except in the case of Open Book Examinations.
Topics covered include applications of the principles of the planetary gear systems, fluids, seals, hydrodynamic drives, hydraulic controls and application devices.
This intermediate course further emphasizes the development of the four language skills: The project selected will utilize skills and knowledge acquired in earlier AET studies. Computer-aided programs in site design and survey data management will be introduced.
This course is particularly recommended to students in the Anthropology Minor program, but is open to other interested students who meet the prerequisites. The course includes reading and critical analysis of texts, as well as class discussions.
Students will be required to develop basic programs for technical automotive problem solving and practical automotive applications.
Applications for entry to the examination must be made on the prescribed form which must be received by the office in Harare before the closing date. This is a writing-intensive course. Topics include a thorough introduction to personal computers, instruction in and development of basic programming.
The industrial attachment will be guided by a logbook which will be submitted to the Institute by the candidates for assessment. Basic Accounting must be passed before registration for Financial Accounting is considered.
All with a grade of C or higher. Also included are water supply and wastewater treatments for buildings. The forms must be accompanied by the correct examination fee for each subject to be written.
This course emphasizes structural review, intensified practice in oral expression with increased emphasis on reading and writing skills. Students who are writing examinations in subjects which involve the use of statutes will only be examined on the statutes applicable at least six months prior to the examination.
Topics include theoretical issues, fieldwork, and interpretation of artifacts and reconstruction of past cultural patterns. Related laboratory activities and demonstrations are included in the required laboratory section AET L.
Individual laboratory projects will be assigned to each student to reinforce the topics covered in the theory. Topics covered are casting, cold and hot metal forming, machining and joining processes. Performance characteristics of SI Engines utilizing alternate types of fuels are also examined.
